The Curran Mansion

We're pretty sure that HUGE now stands for "Hackers United Golf Extravaganza" but we're always trying to improve things.  What follows is some of the photos from the event which took place September 25 - 28.  Neither the Lake Tahoe area nor the game of golf itself are likely to ever be the same.

HUGE 2007 was a big success.  So much so that we decided to do it all over again.  It was, for the most part, the same cast of characters from 2007 that made its way to the North Lake Tahoe area. We missed Dennis Curran who (quite foolishly) offered the use of his Tahoe retreat.  He was off in Singapore.  No priorities.  It took two to replace him, but between Jim Hawk and Mac Akin, we got our roster up to 12.

This year we broke from tradition.  Rather than repeat at one of the Northstar facilities, Dennis Curran, HUGE emeritus, said that for a small fee, we could use his place.  He and Barb had recently purchased a place in the area for their family getaways.  12 should easily fit in, right? To the left is the Curran retreat as it appeared before HUGE 2008.  Below, some of the luxurious sleeping accommodations.

The Curran's place was really nice.  Talk about class, they had their own coat of arms on the wall and, figuring nobody would actually try to USE them in September, they left a pair of skis on the wall for decorative purposes.  They obviously hadn't taken into account the effect that an overdose of Red Bull would have on John Randall.
