Shin's Resolutions - 2010
Yeah, Right!
This is my fifth installment.  Comments?
RESOLVED: Write.  Write something for my class every week even if I'm not there.  Finish autobiographical brain dump (including philosophies).  While I didn't finish in 2009, I did really well.  The dump should be done by the end of April.

RESOLVED: Brain Activity.  Continue to read and write and educate.  Do other things that keep me mentally active.

RESOLVED:
Travel.  50 states (& DC) in 5 years (this will be my 4th) turns out to be good.  Five trips (adding 21 states) made 2009 a success.  Only 11 left, all in New England.  Finish those.  Now I have the 58 County Pledge, 55 left as of January 1.  I should do at least 25 of these in 2010.  As finances allow, do others!

RESOLVED: Keep house.  I let it go at times.  The measure should be to never be more than an hour from being ready for overnight company.  At one point in each month, each room should be ready for show.  It needs to apply to the yard and car as well.  I should have learned this stuff in the army, but there was a war going on and I didn't sign up!

RESOLVED:  Keep up this site.  I did well in 2009.  I'll stay with at least one major update each month.  Finish the vacation postings.

RESOLVED: Socialize.  Writing is very solitary.  So are road trips.  I need to be sure I meet people and maintain friendships.  The "20 friends list" bombed out.  Find a replacement.

RESOLVED: Look for the next big thing.  Some venture that could have an indefinite time span.  I may not find it, but I need to seek.  Craigslist is a minimum.

RESOLVED: I may add one here later.

RESOLVED: Don't get too hung up on resolutions!
RESOLVED: Be healthy.  I'll keep this for 2010.  I started 2009 at 201 and ended about the same.  The first of each month I'll have a weigh-in and report back.  200 is marginal, 190 good, and 185 I can be proud of.  Eat properly.  Track monthly starting weight.

A couple of trips to the dentist and one each to the eye doctor and GP with acceptable results and proper follow-ups.  I was good on this.

RESOLVED: Not to suck at golf.  Still harder than I thought.  First and foremost, I have to enjoy it.  Practice at least once for each 2 times at or over 100 (doesn't include warm-ups.  Go to a driving range and actually work at something!)  Get my index under 20!

RESOLVED: Play music.  For now, play guitar an average of 1/2 hour a day when at home or have access.  Listen to music (at least 1 club or concert per month!)

RESOLVED: Cut down on brainless computer games.  2009 was still a disaster.  What a waste of my time.

RESOLVED: Keep up the Jennifer List.  Many years ago a good friend Jennifer recommended I set up a monthly checkoff list so I'd recognize what I was and wasn't getting done.  I feel much more productive when I use it.  This was a big success in 2009.  I've upgraded it to really detail routine home maintenance.  Those results remain to be seen.  With the exception of travel dates, update within the first 7 days every month.  Report.

RESOLVED: Get / keep finances in order.  The last 3 months of 2009 (and January 2010) were (will be) a major drain.  Much was anticipated and covered with surplus funds.  I'll set up a target with milestones in early January and simply report how I'm doing.  If you're reading this, DON'T PANIC!  All is well.  I just want to keep it that way!
