I took no photos in L. A. since it was much more a visit than sight-seeing, so there was nothing until my LA departure on the 23rd. |

Left: I went to visit a friend in the LA area for a few days, then headed east on I-10 for the real reason for the trip, my niece Laura’s wedding in Tucson. On the way I passed through Joshua Tree National Forest. I took this photo (left) of what I can only assume are Joshua trees. |

Left: I got into Tucson on Friday, January 23rd just in time for Dillinger Days. JD was captured right in this very hotel where I was staying, The Hotel Congress 75 years earlier. How fitting that a crook (John Dillinger) be captured at a hotel named after 535 other crooks (Congress)! |

Right: Dillinger Days weekend is a big annual event here at the hotel. This is a piece of the reenactment of the story. This drama also spilled out into the parking lot, so my car had to spend its first night in the lot half a block away. Grumble, grumble. |

Left: The event is big enough to draw the owners of several period autos who use the chance to show them off. Many dressed in period clothes (note the couple in the center) but others didn't. |
