When I had my old website, I would make resolutions each year and show my progress toward them.  With no website, resolutions went away.  It's already August, but hey, I'll resurrect it anyway.  Not today, but certainly by sometime next week.

 

The Resolutions of Shin

There is a slightly different approach this time. Resolutions will stem from values I profess to have.  I try to review these monthly, writing them from scratch.

RESOLVED: Be organized.  Keep up the "Jen List".  This is my monthly "to do" list that my friend Jennifer recommended I establish.  Also, keep my finances in order.  Keep house.  Maintain the car.  Always keep my house within an hour from being ready for company!  A place for everything and everything in its place! 

RESOLVED: Show Brain Activity.  Write: rejoin the Tuesday writing group and contribute.  Revisit autobiographical brain dump (including philosophies).  Continue Spanish.  Read at least half an hour each day.  Try new things.

RESOLVED: Travel.  Work on the 58 County Pledge.  I have only 16 left, and should finish sometime in 2016.  Look for new travel opportunities.

RESOLVED: Socialize.  Via both direct contact and computer (email, Facebook, etc.)  Expand friendship circles.  Be appropriate and positive in personal interactions (always an uphill struggle!)  Smile.

RESOLVED: Be involved with the community.  Seek and participate in community affairs.  Attend and participate in church.  Be socially responsible and involved.

RESOLVED: Honor commitments.  Pay bills and other financial commitments on time.  Show up on time and prepared as promised.  Perform work I've promised.  Keep up with family and participate in family events.  Update this website at least monthly!

So How'm I Doin'?

The last formal resolutions were done in 2012, so I'm going to finish 2015 with them, tweeking as needed:

 

RESOLVED: Be healthy.  Keep my weight reasonable.  Right now I'm at 207 (Aug. 31) which is too much.  195 is okay, 185 probably better.  Eat properly.  Do routine doctor, dentist, eye exams and do specialist things.  Adequate diet (fruits & veggies, no excessive junk food) and exercise (5 days a week either walking or golf or reasonable substitute).  Take my meds.

RESOLVED: Be musical.  Play music (not including performances) an average of 1/2 hour a day when at home or have access.  Listen to music (at least 1 club or concert per month!)

RESOLVED: Cut down on brainless computer games.  This has been a problem for years.  What a waste of my time.  Some is fine but if I average over an hour a day, that's a problem.
